Jane Smith*Library VolunteerHour of the Pumpkin Queen by Megan Shepherd is a very cute Halloween read, as someone who loves the world of ‘Nightmare before Christmas’, this read was comforting and a perfect read to kick off spooky season.
This is meant for younger readers so it was a very simple story and a classic “fairytale” like pace. If you’re looking for a quick and easy spooky season read, this satisfies that for sure.

Relatable story for kids who feel different or have been bullied. The main character, August, is born with a facial difference. The story follows him as he navigates the challanges of middle school! Inspirational and offers hope!
