Hour of the Pumpkin Queen by Megan Shepherd is a very cute Halloween read, as someone who loves the world of ‘Nightmare before Christmas’, this read was comforting and a perfect read to kick off spooky season.

This is meant for younger readers so it was a very simple story and a classic “fairytale” like pace. If you’re looking for a quick and easy spooky season read, this satisfies that for sure.

Wonder by R.J. Palacio is an AMAZING book! It's powerful, showing that differences are not weaknesses! Relatable story for kids who feel different or have been bullied. The main character, August, is born with a facial difference. The story follows him as he navigates the challanges of middle school! Inspirational and offers hope!

Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer is a call to action that combines memoir, Indigenous storytelling, and scientific writing. Kimmerer, a botanist and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, examines the relationships people have with the land from a traditional and scientific view, prompting us to do the same.
